2.A basic understanding of Wrestling
3.A Imagination, you need to be able to imagine your opponents feet moving across the mat.
Before I show you a few it is important to know the importance of shadow drilling. Shadow drilling gives you an edge on your oppenent by helping you be more agile than your oppenent. Every wrestler with experience knows how much speed counts at any point in time in a match. Especially in overtime. As your drilling just remember to do your best because shadow drilling could be the difference between your hand getting raised or walking off the mat in a rage.
So, are you ready to drill? Here we go:
Double-Leg Tap Drill: This is a drill in which you imagine one of your opponents feet becoming vulnerable then taking a shot and spinning to the back two or three times then pertending they are taking a shot and sprawling. If you drill this enough it will pay off and you will see it in the later periods of your tougher matches.
Stand Up Drill: Imagine your oppenent on top of you and get in refrees position with yourself on bottom and your immaginary oppenent on top then do a standup as quickly as you can by pulling your hands up off the mat then your knees then cutting with your right hand to get out. As soon as you are out go for a takedown execute it then go back too bottom do this a few times then when you get out pertend your oppenent is taking the shot and sprawl. Repeat as many times as you want.
Sprawl Re-Shot: In this pertend your oppenent is shooting then sprawl back out and re-sprawl. Then Repeat as many times as you like.
Sprawl & Spin Drill: Drill in which you sprawl and then spin around your oppenent to get you're two points the name is pretty self explanitory.
There are many more drills available that you should try out. The bottom line is Shadow Drilling is important you should use it and suggest to your coaches to do it every Practice!
